SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

THURSDAY - March 22, 2018 

ALL MEMBER PAINTOUT FOR WET WALL EXHIBITION & COMPETITION - 9am to 3pm
  • Open to ALL members (not just juried show artists)
  • 8:30am - Check in and stamping of canvases/paper at Cincinnati Art Club. If you plan to participate in the Wet Wall Competition, maximum size will be 200 sq. inches excluding frame.  Artists will be required to sign a waiver.
  • Indoor Painting Location - There will be a model and still life set up for those wishing to paint indoors at the Cincinnati Art Club.
  • Outdoor Painting Location - Eden Park (Maps will be provided at check in).
  • Wet Wall Competition
    - Each member participating in the paint out may submit one painting.
    - Painting must be framed and ready to hang.
    - Framed paintings must be turned in to the gallery Thursday, March 22, between 2 and 4 pm.
    - Wet wall show will run the length of the main show. (Artists will be responsible for cost of return shipping of their unsold Wet Wall Exhibition piece. Gallery will collect fee from artists to cover return shipping).

  • Roger and his wife Rho have generously offered to host us at their home for an unforgettable evening of friendship, camaraderie, refreshments and a tour of Roger and Rho’s exceptional art collection.
  • Roger, who has served as our show coordinator for our Small Works Showcase exhibition, is the great nephew of impressionist painter John Henry Twachtman, who was born in Cincinnati. Open to AIS Members and one guest.

Video Demo/Lecture by AIS Founder William Schultz. AIS was founded in 1998 in honor of William Schultz by his students, Charlotte Dickinson, Pauline Ney and Marjorie Bradley. Bill Schultz passed away in 2005, so this is a special opportunity to learn from our founding master. We will have a number of Bill’s original paintings available to view as well.

3:30 – 4:15pm – The Cincinnati Art Club - Its History and Influence in the Art World
CAC Historian David Klocke will present this fascinating look into the history and influence of the Cincinnati Art Club and the importance of the art scene in Cincinnati throughout the last 128 years. Our sincere thanks to the Cincinnati Art Club for so generously hosting our workshops and paintout in conjunction with our own exhibition!

  • Come, enjoy dinner and celebrate with your fellow AIS members and their guests at Cincinnati's oldest restaurant, offering 150 years of character and authentic German and contemporary American cuisine.  One of the treasures of historic Cincinnati, Mecklenburg Restaurant and Bier Garten was established in 1865. Priding themselves on their German heritage, Mecklenburg Gardens stays true to its roots, providing delectable German cuisine along with traditional German Lagers, Dunkels, Hefeweizen, and Pilsners on tap, local craft beers, and a wide selection of imports.

    • Please reserve according to your entree choice.
    • You must make a separate reservation for your guest with their menu selection. To pay for your meal and your guest's meal together, select "Invoice Me" when you make each reservation. Then go to your profile on the AIS website and select "Invoices and Payments". There you can select the invoices to be paid and pay them online.
