Serving artists since 1998, American Impressionist Society offers our members opportunities in exhibitions, workshops, panel discussions, painting demonstrations, critiques, paint outs, lectures and tours.

Memberships are open to American Impressionist artists who are legal United States residents and a minimum of 18 years old. 

Membership Dues are $65 Annually for the period January through December.  Renewals/New Memberships paid on or after October 25th will be valid through December 31st the following year. Your membership record may show you need to pay again in 2024, but don't worry! We will update your record for your membership to be valid through 2024.

If you joined BEFORE October 25, 2024 you will need to renew in 2025. 

We publish a catalog for our National Exhibition. If you join or renew before June 1, your name will be listed in membership. 

Benefits of membership include:

  • Eligibility to enter the annual AIS National Juried Exhibition, the AIS Impressions Small Works Showcase, the Associate Member Online Exhibition and the AIS All Member Online Exhibition (additional entry fee applies for each show)
  • Paint-out, demo and educational seminars during the week of the National Juried Exhibition and the AIS Impressions Small Works Showcase with the opportunity to network with artists from across the US (most at no additional cost)
  • Critique services from Signature Members. 
  • Discounted tuition on AIS sponsored workshops
  • Participation in Members only AIS Artist Retreat events
  • Monthly E-Newsletter
  • Receive full color catalog from the Annual National Juried Exhibition 
  • Facebook group open exclusively to AIS members.
  • Members may post images of their work and network through the AIS Facebook group

  • "Members Only" Forum through the AIS website

ASSOCIATE MEMBERS

  • All new members join at the Associate level. No images are needed for your membership. Pay your dues and you are a member! 
  • You will maintain an Associate Member until you apply for Signature Membership if you are eligible. 
  • AIS Associate Members in good standing may enter the AIS National Juried Exhibition, AIS Impressions Small Works Showcase and AIS Online Exhibition (additional entry fee required).

SUPPORTING MEMBERS

For those interested in supporting AIS. Supporting members may attend member events. Supporting members may not enter juried exhibitions or Wet Walls exhibitions at AIS Paint Outs.  $50 annually

SIGNATURE MEMBERS

Associate Members who have completed a minimum of three consecutive years as an AIS Associate Member and have been accepted into three AIS National Juried Exhibitions OR two AIS National Juried Exhibitions and two AIS Small Works Showcases may apply for Signature status. Membership in AIS must have been continuous including the years accepted into these juried exhibitions.

Acceptance into the AIS Online Exhibitions does not qualify for Signature status. 

You must use the digital form to apply for Signature status are accepted from October 1-November 15.

AIS Signature Members in good standing may:

  • Enter AIS National Exhibition,  AIS Impressions Small Works Showcase and AIS Online Exhibition. 
    (additional entry fee required)
  • Sign "AIS" after their name
  • Maintain Signature status with payment of annual dues each year

MASTER MEMBERS

Master Artist members are invited by the AIS Board of Directors and may use the initials "AISM" after their name.

Masters are selected carefully and are nationally known and considered to be leaders in the art community. They epitomize the highest level of impressionism and passionately give back to the society by sharing their knowledge.

AIS Masters serve as Awards Judges, offer workshops and participate in educational programs.
