This workshop is an event during the Opening Week of 9th Annual Small Works Showcase

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

Peggi Kroll Roberts will teach a one day Plein Air workshop.  Peggi will stress the power of the fundamentals through simple demos and exercises.  We will paint the local area and landscape focusing on capturing the light, good design and color.  Peggi will show how it’s important to get a good start to build on. Simplification will be key.  

Oils, Acrylic, Gouache and Watercolor are welcome. Appropriate brushes for each medium. 

My favorites for gouache and acrylic are the Princeton Velvet Touch series.  For Oils I like Princeton Dakota Flats. 

A simple palette of black, white and the primaries of Cad Yellow Lemon, Quinacrodone Rose and Cerulean Blue Hue are the basics.  Bring any other additional colors preferred. We will be working in 8” x 10” so we can gather mileage. Appropriate substrates you prefer for your medium.  

Water or Gamsol. 

Paper towels and trash bag. 

Plein Air easel a must.  Sunscreen and a hat. 

If AIS cancels, students are given a full refund.  AIS will offer a partial refund of 80% of fee if students need to cancel up to January 30. After January 30, no refunds.
