Kim English Workshop

  • You must be a current paid member of AIS to be able to register at the special members price.

Kim English Workshop

This one day workshop will focus on the model indoors. Students will learn how to work fast and loose, concentrating on the big relationships, instead of the details. The various effects of light
will be discussed as well as how Kim utilizes his palette.

Supply list:

  • Portable easel (French Easel, Pochade Box, etc)
  • Palette (glass or wood)
  • Brushes - Various sizes of bristle and soft brushes (I use a medium size (3/4") soft brush as well as a couple of (1/2") bristle brushes)
  • Palette Knife
  • Rags or paper towels
  • Gamsol or odorless mineral spirits (AIS will have Gamsol available for anyone flying in)
  • Brush Washing Container with a screen (I use a medium size metal Holbein Canister)
  • Canvas panels (8X10, 9X12) bring enough panels to do a number of small paintings (I use 12"x16" 10"x12" linen panels)
  • Panel Carrier or Slot Box (a box to carry your wet panels after completion)
